Custom Commissions at On Whispering Mountain
Custom Commissions at On Whispering Mountain
A Guided, One-of-a-Kind Process
Custom commissions at On Whispering Mountain are collaborative, thoughtful, and intentionally limited. Each piece is designed and crafted with care, drawing on natural materials, traditional woodworking, and artistic interpretation.
To ensure quality and a positive experience for everyone involved, the following guidelines apply to all custom commission requests.
Commission Minimum
Custom commissions begin at $600.
Projects below this threshold are often better served through our curated collection of ready-made or lightly personalized pieces. I’m always happy to help guide you toward the best option.
Design & Collaboration
Each commission begins with a conversation. Together, we’ll discuss your vision, intended use, and any meaningful details you’d like reflected in the piece.
- One design refinement is included as part of the process
- Additional revisions or significant changes may require adjusted pricing or timelines
- Final artistic decisions are guided by experience, materials, and craftsmanship
Deposits & Scheduling
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm your commission and reserve time on the build schedule.
- Design work begins once the deposit is received
- Materials are sourced after confirmation
- The remaining balance is due before delivery or shipment
Timelines
Commission timelines vary based on scope and materials. Typical lead times are discussed up front and confirmed before work begins.
- Clear communication helps keep projects on schedule
- Delays in feedback may extend the timeline
- Rush requests may be accommodated selectively and are subject to premium pricing
Communication
To keep projects moving smoothly:
Communication is handled through agreed-upon channels
- Key decisions are confirmed in writing
- Response times are respected on both sides
- This approach ensures clarity and avoids surprises.
Artistic Integrity
Each commissioned piece reflects the spirit of On Whispering Mountain. While your story and vision guide the work, the studio may decline commissions if a request falls outside its scope or conflicts with its artistic standards.
This selectivity ensures every finished piece receives the attention it deserves.
